How to Prepare for DNA Testing

Adults: Avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for 30 minutes before sample collection.

For babies/children: it's recommended to avoid feeding the baby for about 30 minutes before the sample is collected. This precaution is to ensure the swab is not contaminated with milk residue or other particles, which could make the sample collection process more difficult.

How to Prepare for Drug Testing

1. Know What You’re Taking

Medications: Inform the testing entity of any prescriptions or over-the-counter medications, as some can trigger false positives (e.g., decongestants, antidepressants, or painkillers).

Supplements: Ensure they don’t contain banned or unknown ingredients.

2. Stay Hydrated

Drink water to ensure normal urine production, but avoid overhydrating right before the test, as excessively diluted urine can be flagged as suspicious.

3. Avoid Detox Products

Over-the-counter detox kits and drinks often claim to mask drug use but are not foolproof and may be detected by advanced testing methods.

4. Follow Instructions

Pre-test guidelines: Follow any pre-test instructions, such as fasting or avoiding certain foods.

Test day: Bring identification and arrive on time. Follow all procedures carefully.
